With a wonderful location in Cargo 2 at Wapping Wharf, Harbour & Browns is an exciting new venture from the team behind popular bar and restaurant, Brace & Browns. With a clever use of storage, which doubles as a bar and a service area for the open kitchen, the team has transformed this shipping container into a beautifully simple, contemporary restaurant with polished concrete tables and copper accents.

During the day, the light and airy venue has a bistro-style ambience and is a great place to pop in for a cup of tea and a bite to eat. Brunch is served throughout the day, and it’s a delightfully original offering of waffles, pancakes, and eggs as you’ve never seen them before. Whether it’s an 8oz rump steak with poached eggs and pickled veg, a salted waffle with confit duck leg, fried duck egg and sticky plum sauce, or jackfruit beans with cheesy sourdough, there’s something for everyone to indulge in.

Nibbles and sharers include mozzarella sticks with pomegranate molasses, and crispy hake bites with coriander aioli, providing a wonderful accompaniment to a cheeky afternoon tipple. If you’re staying for lunch or dinner, perhaps you’ll try the fresh cod tacos with mango salsa, or the honey- and bourbon-braised short rib. Mouth-watering sides include the likes of fennel, salsify, cucumber and mint salad, smoked paprika and Parmesan chips, and wild mushroom mac and cheese with charred aubergine.

For dessert or a sweet accompaniment to a relaxed cup of coffee, it’s imperative that you try Harbour & Browns’ fresh doughnuts. Naturally you’ll want to eat them all at once, but they do come in a handy box for those willing to demonstrate impressive levels of self-control and save for later.

When the sun is shining, the spacious terrace provides splendid views over the harbour. One of Bristol’s most popular spots for dining, drinking and grazing, Wapping Wharf is one of Bristol’s most popular spots for dining, drinking and grazing, and provides the perfect backdrop for enjoying a refreshing gin and tonic or a chilled glass of Prosecco.
