Dine at The H Bar Restaurant by Humberto Benevenuto and you'll be transported into a stylish Continental bistro conveniently located in the famous Colston Hall. This small but perfectly formed restaurant, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, candlelit tables, dark furnishings and smooth background music, provides a haven from the bustle of the city outside. You can happily lose yourself for a couple of hours within its relaxing ambience.

A menu inspired by European flavours and boasting a fine-dining edge tempts at every turn. From the concise selection of seasonal starters I began with hand-pickled quail's egg, smoked chicken and cashew salad, united by a sweet honey and mustard dressing. My guest opted for salmon mousse, infused with dill yet not overpowered. We both ordered from the specials menu for mains (a successful choice I might add). Braised shin of beef fell apart at the gentlest touch, and was perfectly accompanied by a polenta cake and a rich red wine jus. My guest was just as overjoyed by his fillet of sea bass with fennel, new potatoes, courgette and tomato, showered in a cascade of creamy seafood sauce with mussels and prawns. Desserts of vanilla pannacotta with crumbly homemade biscotti and decadent chocolate tart with Chantilly cream followed.

At just £15.95 for two courses and £18.95 for three, whether you're in Colston Hall seeing a show or just passing by, The H Bar Restaurant is truly an unmissable experience
