Infused with traditions of bygone eras, The Larder House has won the hearts of both the foodie elite and local residents. There is clear passion for food, with homage paid to the origins of each dish, reflecting the restaurant’s continuous research into food from around the UK and Europe.

The wood-fired oven is at the heart of the restaurant and bar, around which the staff work with seamless synergy and enthusiasm. Lighter dishes and fresh seafood are served throughout the day. By night, the restaurant comes alive, showcasing a creative drinks menu alongside dishes from the main menu and daily specials. The food is influenced by the rustic, fresh flavours of European cuisine, with plenty of meat, fish and vegetarian options available. The kitchen can also cater for dietary needs. Traditional roasts with wood-fired meats are popular on Sunday and served until late. Above The Larder House sits The Library; a speakeasy-style cocktail bar accessible only by key entry.

Understandably, The Library is rather popular, so booking ahead is advised. Since opening in 2011, the venue has received many accolades, and founder James Fowler was voted the UK’s Best Cocktail Bartender 2014/15.
