A concept brought to life by three close friends, Piattino celebrates everything that’s great about Italian food: fine cuisine shared among family and friends. Stop by and you’ll soon see why diners rave about the restaurant’s vibrant yet laid-back ambience, authentic food and friendly hospitality.

The restaurant specialises in serving Italian small plates known as piattini, with dishes ranging from decadent pasta and gnocchi to ever-popular arancini, alongside seafood specials. Everything that leaves the kitchen is homemade using the finest ingredients. Piattino prides itself on using fresh, free-range and organic produce, which is sourced from local independent suppliers. Using top-notch ingredients ensures that, despite being petite, the dishes are packed with big flavours. Particular highlights include the gnocchi per zola – homemade gnocchi served with rich Gorgonzola, juicy pears and crisp walnuts – and gambero di galizia, comprising crayfish marinated in chilli and lime accompanied by a Caerphilly croquette and sharp redcurrant jam. Traditional Neopolitan-style pizzas also feature on the menu. When it comes to dessert, the classic tiramisu is not to be missed; it’s best enjoyed with a tipple from the extensive dessert wine menu.

In addition to delightful fare, guests are often treated to live music from local jazz and blues bands. With a fantastic atmosphere, live entertainment and top-notch food to boot, Piattino is the place to be.
