Located in the beautiful city of Bath, right on the bank of the canal in Lower Weston, The Locksbrook Inn is just the kind of place where you can while away a whole afternoon. In the summer sit out in the sunshine beside the water and sample the wide range of drinks on offer, while winter presents the perfect opportunity to settle next to the wood-burning stove with friends.

It’s the perfect place to spend time with friends and family as The Locksbrook Inn manages to cater to everyone with ease, with small plates through to hearty, hefty portions, and everything has a bit of a Locksbrook twist. This is gastropub dining, but not quite as you know it.

The main menu is packed with tasty sharing and small plates – think ham hock and Parma ham terrine served with homemade piccalilli, crispy-fried king prawns with Bloody Mary dressing and toast, or baked Camembert with cornichons and rosemary flatbread. Every tasty nine-inch pizza is handmade and hand-tossed before being cooked to delicious perfection, with toppings such as salami, rocket and Parmesan. There are also plenty of traditional gastropub staples from battered Brixham fish and chips to lamb rump with buttery fondant potato with kale and honey-glazed carrots and rosemary jus. The falafel burger with Moroccan spices and baba ganoush is absolutely fantastic.

Choose from mouth-watering desserts such as hot chocolate fondant with raspberry Pavlova ice cream, classic sticky toffee pudding, and Baileys and amaretti cheesecake served with blackberries and white chocolate. If you’d prefer to end the meal on a savoury note, why not order a selection of West Country cheeses with chutney, celery and crackers? There is a chance you’ll be too full for pudding, in which case a choice of post-dinner drinks including the delicious Martini Espresso and Pedro Ximenez Viejo Napolean will provide the perfect conclusion to your meal.

Kick-start your day with a Locksbrook brunch, which offers delicious classics like eggs Benedict, Florentine and Royale, a big Locksbrook breakfast and breakfast baps. These are served Monday to Saturday until 11.30am and until 11am on Sunday to give the kitchen team ample time to prepare their lovely Sunday roasts.
