Coast Café des Artistes
Being the only place for miles where you can eat and drink on the beach might mean that the people at Coast could abuse this power and overcharge for poor fast food. In fact, the opposite is true. While gazing out to sea, enjoying my fresh croissant with a beautiful Italian latte, I overheard the family next to me complimenting the quality and quantity of the portions.
The food is all made on the beach, so they do sometimes run out on a busy, sunny weekend, but it’s worth the wait for the likes of fresh plaice goujons, organic Angus beefburger or the fish mezze. Their full Sussex breakfast is also one of the best we’ve had. Next door you’ll find 12 wonderful artists’ studios, which are well worth a look.
Worthing has been hiding this little gem, but it’s growing in popularity every year. This success means that they’ve been able to expand, and are now open on Friday and Saturday evenings. Call in soon to find out what all the fuss is about.
