The Dew Drop Inn is a charming venue in a rural location. Adorned with horse brasses and quaint antiques, it is replete with character. A true country pub, it has a long history dating from around the 1600s, and was reputedly inhabited by Dick Turpin. Nowadays parking space is ample and there is plenty of outside seating for alfresco dining and drinking. The menu changes regularly, but retains British classics and family favourites, always making use of local produce - it also features exotic dishes such as North African tagines and Lebanese kofta.

The staff are courteous and accommodating, and the ambience is cosy and comforting. Creamy baked Camembert with fresh, daily baked bread from Henley and a rich, flavourful trout and crayfish pate were both delightful openers. The steak main was impeccably prepared, and the meaty boar and apple sausages with bubble and squeak were a treat. Portions were substantial and the service consistently professional. Desserts are a delightful selection of favourites; we went for the indulgent sticky toffee pudding and moreish apple crumble. There is a fine drinks selection, including Brakspear Ales and smooth liqueur coffees. All in all, you can expect any visit to The Dew Drop Inn to be a roaring success - ours certainly was.
