Two years ago, owner Alex Frodsham needed a career change so she took over The Roebuck, the local that she knew and loved, and made it her own. Her customers are from all walks of life and ages, drawn to the pub's homely feel. The menu Alex has created provides good, honest pub favourites like slow-cooked honey-glazed ham served with champ mash and mustard sauce - home-cooked and reasonably priced. There is an ever-changing programme of special culinary days and entertainment, and an events room - perfect for wedding and birthday parties. The Roebuck has come a long way since its Victorian days; today boasting a fine selection of quality wines and real ales, comfy sofas, wooden panelling and a pleasantly eccentric air.
