The Golden Ball
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
The Golden Ball is a handsome 16th-Century building in a pleasant setting close to Cookham and Maidenhead. This cosy family-run establishment is blessed with an abundance of traditional charm - logs smoulder in the log burner and the original beams overhead add real character. The new owners recently refurbished The Golden Ball and, whilst the pub's historical feel has been retained, they have created a contemporary space in which to wine and dine. There is also a delightful outdoor patio - perfect for eating alfresco while enjoying views of the surrounding green-belt and National Trust land. The menu features hearty traditional fare with a creative, modern twist. Expect to find delicious starters such as goat's cheese and fig parcels or salmon, scallop and spinach parfait, and mains like succulent lamb chops with a homemade red wine and wild mushroom sauce and Dauphinois potatoes. Daily specials are available too, keeping things fresh and exciting. The bar stocks just about every drink you can think of - there are real ales, bottled beers, and a variety of quality wines. Why not indulge further and enjoy a tipple or two with one of The Golden Ball's famous Sunday roasts? Whether you're visiting for lunch, an evening meal or a leisurely drink, a visit to this unique pub is a treat you'll want to repeat time and again.
