Come rain or shine, it's worth fighting your way through the throngs of tourists at historic Windsor & Eton Central Railway Station to visit the unique and utterly fabulous Cinnamon Café. There are plenty of chain establishments nearby, but there's a reason Cinnamon is so popular - and it's not just the unbeatable prices.

This café is a true labour of love and the ethos here is simple: to deliver the best possible sustainable coffee and food at the best possible value. As soon as you enter - passing giant nutcrackers standing guard at the door - you'll pick up on the welcoming ambience. Genuine, friendly staff are immediately on hand to take your order and have a chat. We had hot jacket potatoes with chilli and tuna, accompanied by salad - all delivered in record time. To follow, some lovingly prepared quality coffees - a latte and a flat white - with a warm cinnamon bun (of course) and a Victoria sponge went down a treat. Although, by the look of it, the luxurious cream tea and carrot cake alone would be justification for a repeat visit. Sitting out in the cobbled yard and watching the world go by with a steaming-hot, top-quality coffee is a real pleasure, too. So if you're ever visiting Windsor, be sure to pop in and see what all the fuss is about.
