Hambledon Road, Denmead, PO7 6NU
In picturesque Denmead, Sandie and David's delightful restaurant and wine bar continues to up the stakes of quality and service for eateries in this area. With an extensive menu that rolls with the seasons, they continue to cook up the very best local produce in an exciting and innovative way.

Flower-adorned tables, home-made ice creams and daily baked bread rolls are all signs of the care and attention that is lavished on every aspect of your dining experience. The candlelit restaurant seats up to 45 diners in comfort, making it ideal for business functions, Christmas parties and family celebrations.

At Barnard's you can partake in the special 'lunch for £5' offer (the menu features one, two or three courses for £5, £8.50 and £11.50 respectively), a light snack or dinner from the à la carte menu. The fixed price evening menu with three courses including coffee won't break the bank at £18.50.

Now to the food. Pan-fried chicken liver with crispy bacon and garlic croutons was a good sign of things to come: smooth and rich with a satisfying crunch supplied by the croutons. My main course of grilled lemon sole certainly delivered, although others looked equally good (the venison caught my eye). Replete with a fantastic almond and apricot créme brûlée, I happily pronounce this meal delicious
