The Ferryman Inn sits alongside the River Thames on the old ferry crossing in Bablock Hythe. Two bars and a restaurant opening onto a riverside terrace and lawns allow The Ferryman Inn to cater for all tastes. The inn has six en-suite bedrooms overlooking the river from £65 a night, including a Continental breakfast, and offers a varied menu, from duck breast in a Cumberland sauce served with pea mash and salmon in hollandaise and prawn sauce to a simple scampi and chips. A large function room for weddings and parties is used at Christmas for medieval banquets (£22.50 per person), including live entertainment from minstrels and jesters.

The Ferryman Inn also boasts a range of Cask Marque ales and has a skittles alley that can be group hired at £8.50 per person with a fish or chicken and chips supper. Riverside entertainment is designed for groups who wish to be entertained in the afternoon. A two-course meal is followed by a professional two-hour show.

The inn is one of the oldest ferry crossing points still in use today; in fact, since 950AD the inn has been providing refreshment for travellers, traders and people passing through, and it remains every bit as charming as it was all those years ago. No wonder The Ferryman Inn has been awarded a four-star rating by West Oxfordshire district council
