Sticky braised Oxford Sandy and Black pork cheeks with apple, mashed potatoes, onion rings and a cider gravy is just one example of the kind of mouth-watering starters that can be had at Rachel and Matt Weedon's new venture, The Lamb Inn in Crawley. Using the best local produce they can get their hands on, as well as top real ales from nearby Wychwood Brewery, the Weedon's have set out to create a top gastropub that has something to tickle the fancy of all who comes through the doors. Just take a look at the rest of the menu for proof - vegetarians can delight in dishes such as cauliflower cheese risotto with kale, beetroot and sprouting broccoli, while hardened meat-eaters will find something different and exciting to try in the form of choices like the braised blade of Cotswold Longhorn beef with shallot jam, carrots and onions baked in beef dripping, mashed potatoes, greens and a thick beef gravy.

While enjoying your meal it's hard not to also appreciate the traditional decor of this stunning 18th-Century building. The old beams and open fireplace in particular contribute to an olde-worlde atmosphere that can never be understated. All in all, The Lamb Inn presents a picture-perfect setting in which to relax, especially when there's a well-behaved pooch curled up in the bar area
