The Maytime Inn has been serving the medieval town of Burford since the 17th century and it’s still welcoming guests today. Situated in the heart of the Cotswolds, this restaurant boasts exquisite views of the surrounding countryside, as well as six beautiful boutique bedrooms. As a proudly family-friendly venue, The Maytime Inn offers a relaxed environment that’s perfect for casual dining. Inside, the roaring fires create a warm, cosy dining experience, while the outdoor area boasts ample seating, a gin bar and a boules pitch.
The menus here change seasonally and a large proportion of the ingredients are locally sourced: the fish is delivered daily, game comes from nearby estates and the bread is purchased from a local bakery. For your starter, choose the soup with crusty bread for something light or, for a heartier choice, plump for the ‘nduja on sourdough toast with a poached egg. The selection of mains includes slow-roasted pork belly with whole grain mustard mash, spiced braised red cabbage and apple sauce, as well as an indulgent wild boar burger. The vegetarian risotto of the day is always tasty and fresh too.
To top off your meal, select a dessert from the tempting range – you won’t be able to resist the dark chocolate and Guinness torte, while kids will love the homemade ice creams in a variety of tempting flavours.
