With colourful lamps hanging from the ceiling, a spotless open kitchen, friendly staff and eclectic menus, LSQ2 has a modern feel and a vibrant atmosphere. You'll find a wide choice of dishes with a variance in style and ingredients that really displays the talent of the extremely capable chefs. The menu is compiled from specialities hand picked from around the globe; there is a fusion of traditional fare and lighter Asian dishes, which in skilled hands, makes for an exciting and interesting dining experience.

Freshly baked bread with dips and flavourpacked olives were great to share while making our selections. The starters were light and fresh dishes of tempura softshell crab, and vegetable spring roll 'shots', which came with three shot glasses filled with different dipping sauces to enliven the dish and make it even more fun to eat. My guest, being vegetarian, is usually lucky to find anything particularly exciting on a menu; this wasn't the case at LSQ2. Her main was delightful and consisted of layered honey-roasted butternut squash pancakes, resting on an edamame succotash, topped with crumbled feta. Considering its soufflé-like texture, she assured me it was very filling. For my main meal I selected a carnivore's treat - it was one of the best steaks I have ever tasted. Sealed to perfection on the grill, the 21-day-aged Aberdeen Angus fillet melted in the mouth; served alongside king prawns, wild mushrooms, the ultimate mash and a sweet teriyaki sauce, this was a selection of top ingredients treated by an expert hand.

A healthy slice of expertly crafted lemon tart and an aerated tiramisu were impressive when it came to desserts, and the fun factor continued with deep-fried ice cream. My guest's tart was accompanied by sweet shiraz sorbet which we both loved. The wine list is obviously selected with true skill and a wise palate. I chose the Argentinean malbec, full flavoured and rich in colour, while my partner sipped the sauvignon blanc from New Zealand, with its scent of apricots and summer fruit. I would not hesitate to recommend either, but the jewel in the crown was a pinot noir dessert wine which was packed with berry flavours - its sweetness cut through the desserts perfectly.

Amongst the hustle and bustle of The Oracle and its fine selection of eateries, LSQ2 really does stand out from the crowd. There is originality, pleasing decor and a relaxing feel to this eatery; it is easy to see why the waiting staff enjoy their work. They were very keen to guide us in our choices, letting us know what their favourite dishes on the menu were. I cannot wait to go back; if you want a break from the norm and are looking to experience some true culinary ability, look no further than LSQ2.
