Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
For those after a light bite, snacks include baguettes (try the fabulous Stilton melt) and jacket potatoes (the homemade chilli filling is superb). There's always a soup of the day, made fresh on site, as well as crispy coated Camembert or blanche bait to start. Whether you enjoy succulent steaks or meat-free meals, the menu here will provide more than food for thought; sample hearty burgers, fish, steaks, salads, curries and delicious homemade meals such as liver and onions, mushroom stroganoff or steak and merlot pie. Sundays see the biggest and best roasts imaginable, with a choice of meats and vegetarian options. All are served with the usual trimmings - fresh seasonal vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and real, rich gravy. If you can find a little room for dessert, then try the sticky toffee pudding or sorbet St Clements; it really would be a crime not to, even if you have to resort to sharing.
The Mill is a family-friendly pub. Order your little ones a spaghetti bolognese or fishcakes and they can enjoy a free tub of ice cream afterwards. There's a wide range of drinks available, with real ales including Wadworths 6X, Sussex Best and the occasional guest ale. A varied selection of wine is offered and, if you're feeling indulgent, why not treat yourself to a hot chocolate with cream and sprinkles? The Mill can cater for all manner of parties too - just give Val a call to discuss your requirements.
