Pubs and Bars with Restaurants

0.5 miles
Haw Lane, Aldworth, Reading, RG8 9RL
Tucked away in a quiet corner of the English countryside, the Four Points Inn on the outskirts of Aldworth makes a wonderful rural retreat for both locals and visitors to the area.

The menu offers everything from traditional English pub grub to the beautifully pan-fried salmon with hollandaise sauce and honey glazed shoulder of lamb, each served with new potatoes and vegetables or salad.

To start your meal why not try the potato skins and garlic dip, deep filled brie and cranberry sauce or field mushrooms filled with bacon and stilton, followed by the intriguingly named Sweeny Todd pies, served in a hearty portion to fill even the hungriest of tummies. And if you think you can manage it after your main meal, both quantity and quality are present on the dessert menu, where you can treat yourself to cheesecake, creamy bread and butter pudding, apple crumble or a selection of ice creams to name but a few.

Although all of the fresh produce is locally bought, the wine list brings together a selection of reds, whites, rosé and champagne from France, Italy and Chile and will suit every pocket and palate while complementing your meal.

There is a real warm, traditional atmosphere in this pub, with freshly picked flowers decorating your table and the openarmed welcome from both the friendly staff and locals, the Four Points Inn will make a serene and great value getaway for a relaxing afternoon or evening meal in the country.
