Vittle and Swig
Blending industrial style and enchanting idiosyncrasy, this is an unforgettable destination. Expect chic leather booths, top hat pendant lights and a wealth of quirky urban artworks by local artists. Vittle and Swig achieves the perfect balance of bar and restaurant, and is equally well suited to a sophisticated dinner mid-week, Friday night cocktails, or a lazy Sunday brunch. On Saturday nights it’s also a popular venue for pre- and post-dinner drinks, so booking is a must.
The menu changes with the seasons and the abundance of fantastic produce in Kent allows for interesting and varied dishes. Owner and head chef Alex Blaber describes his dishes as modern British though he takes inspiration from flavours and ingredients from around the world. Expect delights like miso cauliflower with goat’s cheese, pickled pear and dukkah, alongside indulgent treats like Chateaubriand for two with wild mushrooms, hand-cut fries and Béarnaise.
As well as an exceptional restaurant, Vittle and Swig is a popular events venue; the upstairs cocktail bar is perfect for gatherings of up to 30, while the larger private room can accommodate up to 80 guests for anything from wedding receptions and birthday parties, to private dinners and conferences.
