The menu is uncomplicated yet very much up-to-date, with comfort food such as pizza, steaks and pasta alongside international dishes. Sharing plates are an excellent way to kick off your evening - try the Baltic plate, with roll mops, shell-on prawns, anchovies, gravadlax, smoked mackerel and horseradish cocktail sauce. A selection of 'little dishes' make for tasty starters and can include a pot of mussels with leeks, cream and Aspalls cyder, or pan-fried pigeon breast with pancetta and wild mushrooms. Follow with a delicious fired pizza - try toppings of Cajun chicken, tomato, garlic, pepperdew peppers and red onions, or four cheeses, roasted pear and rosemary - or choose a pasta dish such as spaghettini with spiced seafood, chilli, coconut and lime. If your appetite calls for something heartier, choose rib-eye steak with Bloody Mary butter, grilled tomato and frites, or the spit-roast pork with sage mash, apple, pear and rosemary jelly. For seafood-lovers, the organic salmon served with glass noodles and Oriental lemongrass broth is excellent. The menu's extensive options, plus a tempting range of side dishes, offer something to suit any taste.
