Camden Quarter has recently had a facelift which has helped to keep some of the building's original features intact. Boasting original exposed brickwork and beautiful wooden floors, this relaxing place exudes Victorian charm.

It was clear from the outset that quality food is at the forefront of Camden Quarter, offering delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes, and a selection of specials every evening. The menu is an interesting read, full of freshly prepared dishes made using locally sourced ingredients. There is plenty to suit all tastes and appetites. I began with a delightful rabbit cassoulet; I broke through the crunchy topping to find morsels of tender rabbit with button mushrooms, baby onions, white beans and slivers of leek all encased in the most delicious sauce. It was an unusual starter and well-worth the punt. My companion opted for the Monte Enebro cheese with honey, salted almonds and marinated beetroot.

My main course of slow-roasted belly of pork was succulent and perfectly matched with parsley mash, slices of black pudding, carrots and purple sprouting broccoli. My wife was delighted with Camden Quarter's authentic Croque Monsieur, declaring it better than those she'd tasted in France. The dessert selection included a whole host of homemade goodies, but we were full to bursting and so finished our Camden Quarter experience with an espresso. There is also parking nearby, as well as an upstairs event space and bar
