Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
One60 may be relatively new to Tonbridge High Street, but it’s already building a sterling reputation and gathering a regular flock of customers. They are drawn to the array of cuisine and the care that brothers Roland and Roy put into both the dishes and the service.
One look at the menu and you’ll know that you’ve hit upon somewhere really special. Both Roy and Roland were born in Africa and as such have a rich array of influences that informs all of their creations. You might try their grandmother’s recipe Goan prawn curry, which draws on their Portuguese-Goan background, or perhaps get a little taste of the Indo-Swahili influence of coastal East Africa with their popular chicken bombs: marinated, covered in spicy batter and served with One60 hot sauce. Absolutely everything on the menu, from lamb shanks and burgers through to the Oriental taster plate has a One60 twist on it, and the atmosphere is laid-back. You are welcome to chill out for as long as possible and enjoy your meal at a leisurely pace.
Everything is carefully considered, and you’ll find personal touches and a lot of fun in every visit. Coffee is served with lolly cakes; a little something that chef Roy picked up during his ten years in New Zealand. Roy’s white chocolate cheesecake is his speciality and really is something you need to try – it’s dreamy. This restaurant is truly unique; there’s a special something about it that will keep you coming back time and again.
