This beautiful country inn can be found in the Medway valley, on the A26 just outside the lovely village of Hadlow. Easy to find and with ample parking, The Harrow offers everything you need for a great family lunch or dinner.

Nicely set back from the main bar, the restaurant offers a relaxed and inviting area in which to dine. L o w-key lighting is mixed with contemporary decor and pristine furnishings to make this a stylish dining affair. The menu delivers a mix of traditional pub classics and more popular dishes brandished with a 21st- Century twist. Sitting alongside the à la carte menu, a daily changing specials board provides yet further scrumptious morsels. To start, my companion opted for the oven-baked buffalo mozzarella wrapped in Parma ham. Sitting proud on a bed of mixed salad and tomatoes, the dish was finished with balsamic dressing and left him craving more. My homemade chicken liver paté served with toasted brioche and red onion marmalade was delicious.

Thinking ahead, and wishing to save room for dessert, I chose a salad for mains - the Cajun Caesar with chargrilled chicken, crisp lettuce, anchovies and garlic croutons was a divine and well-portioned choice. My companion raved about the pan-fried fillet of sea bass with a tangy tomato and mango salsa and, having been permitted a taste, I can only concur - the flavour was crisp with a tongue-tinkling kick. The dessert menu offered my sweet tooth everything it could have wanted; sweet pies, cheesecakes, puddings, cakes and ice cream. To top it all off, The Harrow boasts beautiful landscaped gardens complete with a children's play area and plenty of tables for alfreso dining in the summer months. With an extensive children's menu, a delicous à la carte menu, bar snacks, an imaginative wine list and an array of prizewinning beers on offer, there really is something here for all the family.
