High Street, Broughton, SO20 8AA
Beautifully refurbished in 2012, The Tally Ho! in Broughton offers everything you are looking for in modern British dining: remarkable food, sophisticated furnishings and a sociable ambience. Owned by Kerry and Ryan Lamb, this country pub has been lovingly transformed into the perfect foodie destination. Take a table beside one of the large windows and you can gaze upon the stunning surrounding countryside in a bright, airy setting.

As an award-winning restaurateur, Ryan has brought his expertise to the table to create impressive menus that focus on local, home-cooked food and make full use of produce reared in the nearby village farms, such as Broughton water buffalo, Greenfield pork and Hinwood lamb. There is a lunch menu offering door-step gourmet sandwiches and fresh salads. Pub classics can be found on both the bar and bistro menu. The mains showcase many traditional British dishes with a modern, un-fussy twist - for example, championship sausage and mash which uses Greenfield's award-winning Tally Ho! sausages. The chef's signature dish of twice-baked Denhay cheese soufflé with a cheese glaze is quite the talk of the village, and a must-try if you visit. Every Thursday, you can also tailor-make your own pizza using various toppings, if you fancy. Each meal is complemented by a carefully selected choice of wine. Treat yourself to a splendid steamed orange pudding or poached toffee apple for dessert - you won't regret it.

Make the most of your visit and stroll along Broughton Downs, stopping to take in the views over Test Valley
