Boasting 14 years’ experience satisfying Andover’s caffeine cravings, this newly refurbished coffee house is a real breath of fresh air in the busy town centre. With comfy armchairs inside and suntrap outdoor seating, Blue Onion is the perfect stop-off for leisurely lunches and catch-ups over coffee and cake. It’s difficult to choose a favourite from the long list of hot and cold meals and snacks. I certainly made the right choice with my salmon burger, though. Succulent, and accompanied by crispy sweet potato fries. Having arrived hungry, my wife was equally pleased with her sirloin steak baguette. Food is freshly prepared on the premises to order and the welcoming staff are only too happy to accommodate all dietary needs. From the many desserts available, I plumped for the heavenly maple syrup and pecan crèpe – perfect when enjoyed with an artisanal cup of coffee. It’s no wonder that people rave about Blue Onion.
