Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
Little Common Lane, Bletchingley, Redhill, RH1 4QF
Located just off the A25, this traditional country pub lies in the picturesque village of Bletchingley. Walk down its quaint high street and you'll see beautiful tile-hung cottages dating back to the late 12th Century. Take a wander a little further, down the stone steps on Little Common Lane, and you'll find yourself greeted with the warmest of community welcomes. Originally built as two cottages in the 1850s, this low-beamed Victorian pub is cosy and atmospheric. Sample a selection of Young's beers or specially selected guest ales in the main L-shaped bar or, if you fancy a little more seclusion, the tiny second bar.
William IV is all about serving traditional, home-cooked and reasonably priced dishes with a smile. Favourites such as steak and stout pie, liver and bacon, and wholetail scampi are all served with your choice of potatoes, seasonal vegetables or salad. Daily changing specials offer varying dishes to keep the dedicated band of regulars coming back - you might find cod and prawn Chablis, beef stroganoff or Lancashire hotpot. Sundays see a traditional roast dinner on offer and, if you can squeeze one in, a whole host of homemade desserts. A curry night is hosted on the second Wednesday of each month and a 'big quiz' each third Wednesday. With a beer garden, heated patio and newly landscaped garden, William IV is the perfect place for dining alfresco as well as snuggling inside in the colder months.
