The Carpenters Arms
Located in the heart of the Kent countryside, The Carpenters Arms occupies a beautiful spot in the village of Eastling. An old 16th-century inn, the current owners have introduced modern comforts while preserving the authentic oak beams, inglenook fireplaces and other historical features that make the old inn so delightful. The interior is a tribute to the surrounding area, with fascinating old photographs adorning the walls and excellent local ale behind the bar. In the colder months you’ll appreciate the relaxed, candlelit ambience and warming open fires, and in the summer you’ll find vibrant floral displays throughout the pub and courtyard – the perfect place to enjoy a delicious al fresco meal or drink.
The carefully crafted and seasonal menu offers a variety of locally sourced game options in the winter months, alongside hearty pub classics such as the chicken, bacon and leek pie and the shoulder of lamb. Speciality fish dishes are a popular choice all year round, and vegetarian options might include the tempting roasted sweet potato and butternut squash with rosemary, grilled halloumi and rocket. On Sundays you’ll also find a highly acclaimed roast lunch with a choice of local meat. Choose from the selection of 12 wines by the glass to accompany your meal. If visiting at the weekend, advance booking is advised.
