In the tranquil setting of Wheatley sits The Railway. Owners Phanpat Khanchankub and his wife Sue have successfully rejuvenated the restaurant by introducing a truly authentic Thai menu, and, having tasted Thai food in its country of origin, and visited a host of Thai restaurants in this country, I am yet to find anything better than Phanpat's creations. The fl avours are truly enthralling and the presentation is absolutely beautiful. The tom yum soup and chicken satay (two of my favourite dishes) had me swooning with delight; the curries which followed were just divine, truly capturing the essence of Thai cooking. This is unsurprising when you hear about Pat's career - he cheffed in the Grand Hyatt Bangkok for nearly 20 years. I heartily recommend you visit this unique restaurant as soon as you can.
