As you walk up to the entrance of Stade Court, the very first thing you'll see through the windows is the hotel's principle dining destination: the Hythe Sea Lounge. Positioned front and centre, this restaurant affords the diners within a prime position for gazing out over the front garden and for appreciating the panoramic views of the beachfront and English Channel beyond.

Hythe Sea Lounge is under the control of chefs Gerry and Liviu, who, along with a talented kitchen brigade, all craftsmen in their field, have created a strong menu full of exciting modern European dishes. A particular highlight of the starter selection is the meltingly soft scallops with watercress and butternut squash, pea and parsnip purées, while main courses include the likes of boneless leg of pheasant with a sticky and sweet cherry sauce. Every dish has a strong emphasis on the use of fresh ingredients that are prepared carefully and lovingly by Gerry, Liviu and the team.

The management realises that many of the guests in the hotel's 42 individually furnished en-suite bedrooms will want to make the most of their time in the pretty seaside town of Hythe, so have also opened a comfortable lounge bar in
which anyone can enjoy a variety of refreshing meals, snacks and drinks, as well as afternoon tea. The bar menu choices are more traditional, with options that include fish and chips, sausage and mash, burgers, authentic homemade curries, pizzas, pastas and salads. Afternoon tea, which is served daily between 10am and 6pm, is a three-tiered affair. For a delicate bite, enjoy the homemade scones with jam, clotted cream and a choice of teas; for a more filling variation go for the traditional afternoon tea that also includes a selection of finger sandwiches; or, finally, for the deluxe experience, the luxury afternoon tea includes a tempting assiette of miniature desserts.

The final string to the Best Western Stade Court Hotel's bow has to be the Lukin Suite. This function room mixes old and new thanks to the low beams and Tudor-styled walls which form a backdrop to the contemporary table settings and decor. All functions held here are given the time and attention they deserve, so you can rest assured you'll be well looked after
