A prominent feature of the village of Densole, The Black Horse boasts a sterling reputation and a great location. The building has been standing for hundreds of years on the main Canterbury to Folkestone route. Inside, The Black Horse's history is evident; low wood-beamed ceilings, a sturdy authentic bar and an atmosphere that welcomes with open arms.

Like any good traditional village pub, the bar is overflowing with fine real ales, lagers, beers from around the world and a wide selection of wines and spirits, but The Black Horse offers so much more. Landlord Paul Dawes not only knows how to pull a good pint, his food is simply out of this world. Paul began his career at The Horse as head chef before stepping up to the role of landlord. Now known affectionately as 'the Geordie chef', Paul has placed greater emphasis on serving delicious food. Locally sourced meats, fish and vegetables are used in the freshly cooked meals - something you can taste in every bite. With such careful procuring of ingredients and Paul's skill in the kitchen, you can rest assured that all of the daily changing specials and menu staples taste as good as your mum's home cooking.

If it's a fancy do you're after, make use of the function room, which can be fully decorated to suit the occasion. Keep your eyes open for new and exciting developments at this well-loved pub, such as a new games room, an alfresco dining experience, extended restaurant and overnight accommodation - I, for one, can't think of a place I'd rather be.
