The Rising Sun Inn & Inglenooks Restauants
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
This attractive country pub was built in the early 1600s and boasts all the hallmarks of a traditional inn. Original features such as exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings and a large inglenook fireplace are intact, and the atmosphere is easygoing and friendly. Locals and visitors to the area don't only flock to this pub for its period charm, though, but for its fantastic food and drink too - it's some of the best in the area, and is served by some of the friendliest staff around. The Rising Sun is also a popular pit-stop for those heading to Brands Hatch, which is just a short drive away.
The Rising Sun kitchen team create high-quality, traditional fare using local produce. The main menu features classic favourites and there is a regularly changing specials board too. Those dining here might begin with the aromatic duck and noodle parcel, featuring sliced duck breast and noodles encased in filo pastry and served on a bed of spring onion and cucumber strips drizzled with hoisin and plum sauce. Continue with a main of prime 8oz steak with black peppercorn sauce, mushrooms, chunky chips, grilled tomatoes and onion rings, before finishing up with an indulgent homemade dessert. You're sure to find the ideal accompanying tipple on the extensive international wine list, or from the varied selection of real ales and Cognac. In the summer you can enjoy your meal al fresco in the beer garden or on the front patio
