1 West Way, Botley, OX2 0JB
Just two miles outside Oxford off the A420, The George in Botley offers pub food and a variety of drinks in a comfortable and casual riverside setting. With a sociable bar area complete with big, comfy leather sofas, pool table, jukebox, and Sky sports playing on the four wide-screen televisions and the projector screen, The George is a great place to wind down after work. Owner Lee Chapman goes out of his way to keep all his customers entertained, and regularly puts on fun events including games of Pooh Sticks, barbecues, karaoke and race nights.

The George offers a variety of snacks, soups and other appetisers such as spring rolls, samosas and houmous with red pepper. There are a variety of sandwiches and wraps on offer, with fillings such as coronation chicken, chicken tikka, and cheese with tomato or pickle to choose from. If you're after something more substantial you can choose from mains such as fish fingers, chicken nuggets, scampi or steak; all are served with chips. There is a kids' menu for the little ones, and the inn has a once-weekly curry night. In addition to the wide variety of beers and spirits on offer there is also a range of cold soft drinks - perfect for those on a working lunch.

In the warmer months, a beer garden and roof terrace mean you'll always find a good spot to relax; inside you'll find a bright and open seating area, with an old flagstone floor, looking out onto the green banks of Seacourt Stream - an ideal place to sip a cold lager with friends.
