Opened in 2014, The Elderflower Restaurant on cobbled Quay Street in Lymington has already made a name for itself as a top destination for foodies in the town. Chef patron Andrew Du Bourg and his wife Marjolaine have succeeded in creating a haven for food lovers, drawing on inspiration from their time spent working at some of the finest restaurants in England and France. But this eatery is unique - it embodies their interpretation of the perfect dining experience, providing imaginative cuisine, polished service and a gorgeous setting without any of the pretence.

According to its billing, diners at The Elderflower Restaurant can expect an experience that's 'quintessentially British with a sprinkling of French'. Andrew's inventive fare is thoroughly modern, and he prides himself on showcasing locally sourced ingredients from land and sea. The exquisite à la carte menu changes according to the seasons, so, depending on when you visit, might include confit River Test trout with celeriac remoulade, spiced Clementine, mustard and ketta caviar, to be followed by roast duck, confit leg, hay-smoked butter beans, new season vegetables and rhubarb jus. Finish in style with the 'close but no cigar' - whisky mousse with coffee ice cream and cigar-smoked chocolate. Alternatively, opt for the four-course 'tastes of the Elderflower' menu, which shows off the chef's culinary artistry. Whatever you select, rest assured that the greatest of care will have been taken over your skilfully presented dish.

Upstairs, guests will find three lovely en-suite hotel rooms, available with a delicious breakfast included in the price. This is a must visit for those who appreciate fine food
