The Mill at Gordleton is exquisite, breathtaking and tranquil: an oasis full of locally commissioned objets d'art just waiting to be discovered. After stepping across footbridges, peeking into the secret sculpture garden and walking across the terrace, we made our way inside to the spacious dining room. I began the meal with a smoked haddock soufflé, which was just as heavenly as my companion's earthy wild mushroom ravioli. A glorious fillet of herb-encrusted South Coast cod accompanied by Lymington crab, mange tout and turnip foam followed, while, across the table, the olive, sundried tomato and local goat's cheese torte was declared a delight. We finished the meal with a refreshing baked Alaska, which was made with lemon curd ice cream and served with a homemade raspberry coulis. As well as providing an unforgettable wining and dining experience, this charming mill can cater for events and is highly recommended for all occasions
