The Mill at Gordleton
Set on the banks of the River Avon, you’ll find The Mill at Gordleton in the village of Hordle, just a short drive from the New Forest National Park and a stone’s throw from the south coast.
With its cosy interior and beautiful river terrace, The Mill is the ideal venue for both winter and summer – kids and adults alike will love the secret garden, where there’s a range of sculptures and artworks on display.
The delicious à la carte menu changes regularly but guests can expect various modern British classics, all freshly prepared to order. If you fancy something rich and hearty, opt for the braised mutton shepherd’s pie or the juicy seared venison with Dauphinoise potatoes, spinach and caulifl ower. Vegetarians aren’t forgotten here either – try the mouth-watering vegetarian sausage cassoulet or the cauliflower and chickpea tagine.
On Thursdays, be sure to stop by for the restaurant’s surf and turf night, and on Sundays why not pop in for a roast? Choose from beef, lamb or guinea fowl with all the trimmings, or opt for a vegetarian cauliflower and squash tagine with couscous. Make a break of it, and stay the night in one of The Mill’s charming rooms. Each one is full of character and offers all the modern amenities you need for a comfortable stay.
