East Close Country House Hotel
Focusing on local suppliers, the new table d’hôte menu at the East Close Country House Hotel offers an affordable yet delicious selection of seasonal dishes with a contemporary interpretation. You might start with butter-fried New Forest wild mushrooms with pickled saffron, fennel and smashed avocado atop sourdough. Delectable main courses include the likes of slow-roasted pork belly with sautéed new potatoes, greens, and a pineapple and cashew nut mojo dressing. Round things off with a crushed raspberry and pistachio meringue or perhaps a plate of Dorset and Hampshire cheese and biscuits accompanied by fig and truffled honey.
Set amongst 18 green acres on the edge of the New Forest, this historic 18th-century mansion is a delightful spot to meet, or to stay in one of the 15 boutique bedrooms. Alongside the new table d’hôte menu, guests can also enjoy afternoon tea or a nice glass of Pimm’s on the terrace. Traditional Sunday lunch is served in the Garden Room from noon to 3pm. Whether you’re looking to enjoy a relaxing overnight stay with breakfast, or a casual lunch with friends, you can be assured of a warm welcome from the friendly, professional team, and delicious cuisine from executive head chef Ian Gibbs and his brigade.
