The Oak Barn restaurant and bar is situated in a beautifully renovated 18th-century barn – the perfect setting in which to enjoy delicious food. The extensive menu offers a wide variety of dishes – from bar snacks and light bites to à la carte options – all made using locally sourced ingredients. The staff were friendly and helpfully talked us through the menu. We started with hearty homemade Sussex Smokie, a mouth-watering combination of smoked haddock, salmon and leeks. The sticky glazed ribs proved succulent and juicy – altogether a great start. Next, I opted for the roast local beetroot, spinach and goat’s cheese risotto, while my partner enjoyed a good-sized portion of liver and bacon. Dessert was a thoroughly enjoyable Eton Mess – the perfect end to a fantastic meal. Dining at The Oak Barn was a delightful experience. From Monday to Thursday guests can enjoy two courses for just £14.50, which is yet another reason to return soon.
