Cafe Bar Restaurant
On the edge of Friston Forest, in a beautifully refurbished 16th-century flint building, you’ll find this delightful farmhouse kitchen and courtyard café. The café serves full English breakfasts, light lunches and afternoon tea, while the recently opened restaurant, Wild and Beyond, offers refined, innovative dishes made using the best local and seasonal produce. Lunchtime options range from fresh, contemporary salads at the café to succulent roast lamb with cabbage, leek and chervil in the restaurant. Cakes include the likes of carrot and walnut, and lemon drizzle, with gluten-free versions available. Both eateries are extremely popular with walkers and families, and in summer the café’s takeaway dishes are a huge hit for picnics. In colder weather, head to the Snug to enjoy a warming glass of wine or pint of ale.
