Even though Pelham House is seconds away from Lewes High Street, this venue is much more of a country manor than it is a high street hotel. Alfresco drinking and dining are available in the beautiful grounds, and there is a wide range of atmospheric dining and restaurant rooms with original period features. The hotel is always buzzing with celebrations, business diners, hotel guests and local residents visiting for an evening meal, afternoon tea, or a quick bite from the casual Gallery Menu. Expect to find the likes of slow-braised lamb shoulder flavoured with cinnamon and apricot-stuffed saddle; bouillabaisse made with local fish; and daube of beef cheeks. British game, home-smoked meats, locally caught fish and Sussex vegetables are also used to great effect here. The wine list includes bottles supplied by renowned Brighton merchant Henry Butler, and classic cocktails are available too.
