The Black Rabbit
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
Take the scenic road along the River Arun away from the historic town of Arundel and you’ll stumble upon The Black Rabbit. Set against wetland plains, this beautifully picturesque venue is hugely popular throughout the year, and it’s easy to see why. The river is of course a huge draw during the summer months, as the restaurant’s large windows are opened so that patrons can enjoy the sunshine from the comfort of the gloriously spacious pub. High wooden ceilings, original stone floors further complement the rustic country pub aesthetic, and log burners keep the cold at bay during the chillier times of the year.
Whether dinning al fresco, in the bar area or restaurant, there’s a plethora of classical culinary choices on offer. From the delicious burger menu to the vegan shepherd’s pie, the menu exhibits plenty of great choices. My partner and I were delighted with our shared starter of baked Camembert with garlic and thyme. We followed with roasted chicken supreme, and steak and Tanglefoot ale pie – a silver medal winner at the 2017 British Pie Awards – both of which were incredibly satisfying and moreish. The affection and care taken over the food coupled with the cheery staff’s attentive nature make this a superb allround venue.
