�Forresters Restaurant is a hidden culinary treasure that's well worth seeking out. Walk just 100 paces down Yarmouth High Street and you will find the doorway and stairs leading up to this friendly galleried eatery. Spacious seating and comfy leather chairs under a lofty, vaulted wooden ceiling are illuminated by soft candlelight come the evening, creating an intimate setting. Complimentary olives, bread sticks and iced water magically appeared as we perused a mouth-watering menu listing a variety of gourmet, bistro-style dishes. Alongside this, there is an extensive and impressive wine list featuring popular favourites by the glass. Our food arrived piping hot and beautifully presented. My starter of tangy goat's cheese on slices of fluffy toasted bruschetta was enhanced by flavoursome marmalade chutney, while my partner had the grilled flat mushroom filled with smoky bacon and covered in melted Applewood cheese. Next, we savoured the game and ale stew with contrasting textures of soft, sweet blackberry compote and crispy parsnip curls, and the melt-in-the-mouth roasted confit duck legs dowsed in a red grape reduction. Alongside our generous mains, we were presented with perfectly cooked seasonal vegetables and crispy sautéed new potatoes. An intense, creamy coffee brulée with buttery shortbread and a fruit-filled bread pudding marbled with white chocolate ended our delicious meal, leaving us fully satisfied but wishing we had room for more
