According to the legend, the Folly Inn was a French smuggling barge that went far and wide selling illegal alcohol. Whether the story is true or not, the Folly Inn of today could not be more transformed. It is now a well-respected pub that is popular amongst sailors, locals and families alike. Serving great food and drink during the day, it really comes into its own at night - perhaps it's the sea air that makes people want to party.

Complete with a unique and rustic appearance, the Folly Inn still boasts original walls, ceilings and floors. The wonderful outside area is the perfect place to enjoy all of the nautical activity that the Medina Estuary brings, with the large windows at the front of the building allowing diners beautiful views from inside.

The Folly Inn is not only the ideal place to soak up the surrounding beauty, but also a place to enjoy some excellent food and drink. The extensive menu is varied with a separate specials menu that changes daily. Whether you are with your family, partner or friends, the menu accommodates all. Ideal for sharing, the platters are a great way to begin your feast. The deli board will most certainly please your palate, featuring honey-roast ham with watercress, chicken breast and baby spinach, as well as a wedge of Shropshire blue cheese on rocket, accompanied by piccalilli, chutney, tomatoes and some thick-cut multigrain bread and butter. The hearty venison, pheasant and vegetable casserole will be certain to hit the spot for your main, with braised red cabbage, horseradish and chive mash all equally mouth-watering accompaniments.

With a capacity of about 200 people inside, and 64 on the outside picnic benches, the Folly Inn is a fantastic place to visit en masse for that celebratory meal. A perfect venue come rain or shine, the food, drink and staff at the Folly Inn all work together to make for an unforgettable experience.
