Just feet away from golden sands, with a 180-degree uninterrupted view of the whole of Sandown Bay, you'll find the magnificent bar and restaurant named Driftwood.

Driftwood beach bar offers the very best in hospitality as well as the true atmosphere of the Isle of Wight. Its founder, Sean Ware, modelled it on places he saw on his travels. The word for beach bar varies around the world; in Spain they're called 'chiringuitos', in Mexico 'palapas', while in the USA and Caribbean simply 'beach bars'. They all have the same aim however - to provide their clientele with food and drink and be the beach's social focus and mood-setter. With this in mind, Driftwood has a very varied menu, offering relaxing breakfasts, leisurely lunches and romantic dinners right by the sea, all to the sound of the soothing surf.

The food and drink served is influenced by the four corners of the globe. To drink there are bottled beers from a myriad of different countries, as well as draught lager, Guinness and a range of refreshing ciders. With over 90 spirits, cocktails are always a favourite at Driftwood with many well-known classics served - Margarita, Mojito and Piña Colada to name a few. There are great house wines from California and a selection of wines from many other leading wine-producing countries, plus a range of Champagne available by the bottle.

This attention to detail is mirrored in the food, and is especially noticeable in the endless summer menu - featuring ingredients from around the world. Driftwood caters for every taste, serving honest, generously portioned dishes including fresh seafood, tender Isle of Wight steaks, juicy ribs, Thai curries, pasta and salads, not to mention a daily changing specials board.

Indulge in some memorable dining on the sands of Sandown - no visit here would be complete without a visit to this unique bar and restaurant.
