The Anchor Inn
1-3 High Street, Cowes, Isle of Wight, PO31 7SA
The Anchor Inn is situated at the centre of the Cowes yachting scene. Set opposite the Cowes Yacht Haven and only a short walk from the Red Jet terminal, it is the ideal place to relax after a hard day on the waves, offering good food, fine ale and a warm welcome all year round. This old coaching inn has been at the heart of Cowes for generations. The land was originally leased in 1704 to a victualler named Ladowyke Brandenburg and it became known as The Anchor Inn over 100 years later. The inn is full of atmosphere to this day, and plays host to a vibrant music scene. Eat outside in the stable yard during summer, and in winter draw in by the blazing fire. Alternatively, make a weekend of it and stay in the comfortable, clean and affordable en-suite accommodation, which includes six twin rooms and a spacious family room.
