There are a number of reasons to open a restaurant, but the team behind Amabi opened theirs because of a love of Basque Cuisine. The owners, Markel and his partner Jenny, are passionate about showing the UK's food lovers something unique - the menu that they have meticulously researched and helped to create acutely hones in on Basque Country cooking, which is one of the most celebrated styles of cooking in the world. Here, customers are free to choose from an extended selection of steaks that includes wagyu beef and Isle of Wight breaded beef; a range of tapas for vegetarians and meat eaters; well-cooked fresh fish; and high quality Iberico products and delicacies imported from the Basque Country. More reasons to visit can be found in the drinks selection, which has a choice of smooth, deep, fresh or fruity Rioja wines, as well as a number of varieties of Cava and Champagne, and, naturally, a superb homemade Sangria. The commitment and vision with which the Amabi team has built the restaurant has imbued it with the kind of fine detail that means you will get the most authentic Basque Country dining experience possible. Visit soon and you will find that Amabi is not just a place to eat, but somewhere to relax and enjoy
