Enjoying its status as the only Spanish restaurant in Horsham, El Bodeg'n lives up to its translation of 'wine cellar,' boasting a fine range of Mediterranean wines. As soon as you enter, you are transported to sunny Spain. Images of bull fighters, castanets and even a guitar adorn the walls, along with a picture of owner Tony Nunes with Gordon Ramsay, who has enjoyed a meal here. The varied tapas menu is ideal for those who want a quick bite for lunch, a dish of olives and a cool lager after work, or a leisurely evening sharing great food with friends. We chose a selection of dishes and ate like kings. Plump, juicy manzanilla olives with crusty bread, a tasty selection of Spanish hams, smoky chorizo, baked aubergines with peppers and cheese, a traditional Spanish omelette with potatoes and onions' the delicious offerings just kept on coming. We made sure we saved enough room to enjoy a homemade crema Catalana and a slice of almond cake served with strong, dark coffee. The emphasis here is on quality. Key ingredients are sourced from a specialist Spanish importer, and specials change according to what's fresh and available that day. At present, you can enjoy three courses for an extremely reasonable £10 - surely a good enough reason to seek out this fantastic restaurant. Viva El Bodegón.
