The Hand & Flowers
Within a year of opening, The Hand & Flowers at Marlow had earned itself a Michelin star, three AA rosettes and one Egon Ronay star – testament to the hard work, professionalism and dedication of Tom and Beth Kerridge, steadfast at the helm. Opportunely located in this picturesque and historic Georgian town, The Hand & Flowers continues to produce its award-winning fare, including braised pearl barley with slow-cooked Somerset hare, orange oil and foie gras, and parsley soup with smoked eel, bacon and Cheddar tortellini.
Mostly modern British in flavour, with flourishes of rustic French influence, Tom’s menu showcases the best of fresh, seasonal produce. Expect mains such as luxurious line-caught cod with pastrami and herb crust on the à la carte menu, or delicious barigoule mushroom with English lettuce and prickly ash. Desserts may include unusual choices such as tonka bean pannacotta with poached rhubarb or glazed russet apple tart with hazelnut ice cream.
For those looking to luncheon, the fantastic set lunch menu is also available from Monday to Saturday, while on Sundays it’s roast beef and Yorkshire pudding all the way. All that fine food is bound to make anyone sleepy, so it’s a good thing The Hand & Flowers lays claim to four sumptuous cottages just a stone’s throw away. Select from the Angus, Dexter, Charolais or Limousin suites, where you can enjoy gorgeous fluffy robes, hot tubs and aromatherapy and sports massages in the comfort of your own room.
