If you're looking for somewhere to dine that delivers a little Eastern promise, you need venture no further than the Water Sky restaurant in Fleet. Step off the main road and into an oasis of Oriental charm, adorned with authentic paintings and ornaments. Then, get ready for a culinary adventure as you sample the all-you-can-eat buffet, which offers an incredible 65 diverse dishes for just £14.95 per head, for a minimum of two people. We visited on a weekday evening and the restaurant was buzzing. Romantic couples and small groups of friends, as well as families with children, were all enjoying the relaxed environment. Owner Susan employs courteous, attentive staff who look elegant and stylish, whilst host Karmen radiates warmth and hospitality. Our senses were treated to mouth-watering flavours and aromas as we started with sweet crab claws, spicy squid and spring rolls. We then savoured steaming sweetcorn and chicken soup, tender duck and p e rfectly light pancakes. The richly coloured, subtly spiced Malaysian beef and chicken, accompanied by egg-fried rice, bean sprouts and kapitan vegetables, did not disappoint. Having eaten so much it seemed greedy to attempt a pudding, but with desserts with extraordinary names like 'knights in white satin', it was irresistible. My luscious mango boat combined delectable creamy coconut, refreshing fruity sorbet and crunchy meringue. As we reluctantly stepped back out into the night, we vowed to make a return visit to Water Sky as soon as possible.
