The Good Intent lies within the wonderful village of Puttenham. First mentioned way back in the 1861 census, the pub still retains much of the old character that makes it so alluring. The large inglenook fireplace, old wooden beams and farming tools dotted around the walls all help to create a cosy atmosphere, making The Good Intent the perfect place to eat and drink.

From such an authentic pub you would expect nothing less than authentic food. Starters of whitebait, homemade liver paté and deep-fried Brie are just the thing to whet your appetite, preparing you for the many delectable mains. Choose from the salmon and crab fishcakes, homemade burgers, lasagne and the fish pie, or alternatively try something from the daily specials board - there is something for all tastes. A visit to The Good Intent is not complete without trying one of their pancakes (choose from a selection of different fillings) or a traditional dessert - the bread and butter pudding is a particular favourite of mine.

Regular events including their very own annual beer festival, as well as lively musical and gourmet food evenings, will leave you coming back time and again - The Good Intent is a perfect slice of 'olde England' that will not fail to impress.
