Established 15 years ago by husband and wife team Viv and Cass, Cassons Restaurant has gone from strength to strength. Cass manages the front of house and his friendly competence keeps everything running smoothly. Head chef Viv brings together a wealth of local produce in a superb à la carte menu. The attention to detail, presentation, and outstanding flavours are testament to Viv’s skill and passion.
You’ll be hard pressed to choose from a seasonal evening menu bursting with delicious choices. We’d especially recommend the cured and torched salmon, served with cucumber, sesame croutons, and perfectly balanced sweet wasabi gel and dashi. The tender rabbit saddle ballotine is equally excellent, and comes with flavoursome rack and leg croquettes, roasted carrots and baby turnips, and red wine jus. To complement your meal, choose from an outstandingly varied wine list, with over 100 Old and New World wines. The Sunday menu marries select dishes from the à la carte with a choice of scrumptious roasts. Every six weeks there are also special gourmet nights, with tasting menus of up to ten courses, sometimes featuring different cuisines and themes.
