Main Road, Nutbourne, PO18 8RS
The Barleycorn is a delightful 17th-Century public house in the village of Nutbourne, between Chichester and Emsworth on the old A27. The area is popular with walkers and bikers, who come to enjoy Bosham harbour and other beautiful areas nearby. Inside you'll find a log fire, and outside there's an enclosed garden that's safe for children. Food-wise, they specialise in fresh fish bought locally each day - as is much of the produce on the menu. The head chef trained at top London restaurants including The Ritz and Quaglino's, and his Sunday carvery (which comes with homemade soup) is outstanding. Functions are this pub's forte, and there's a games room complete with pool table, a bar billiards table and a vast selection of board games. Bring the whole family for a day of fun (well-behaved children and dogs are more than welcome).
